David Mitchell BA (Hons) BArch

David Mitchel Architect

David was born in Yeovil, and was educated at Queens College in Taunton. He studied architecture at Manchester university and became a corporate member of the RIBA in 1983.

He worked for a commercial architect’s practice in Bristol before joining his father’s smaller architectural practice in Yeovil in 1986. As the chief design architect of the practice he designed many large projects including the Oxley Sports Centre at Sherborne School for Girls, St Mary’s School, Shaftesbury Arts Centre, and more locally Bridport swimming pool.

Having left the Practice in Yeovil he has taken the opportunity of joining his daughter Hannah in Lyme Regis. Together they have decided to form a new company offering residential architectural design services.

Bearing in mind the smaller type of commissions HB Architectural Design Ltd have decided to specialise in, David has decided not to renew his RIBA membership.

David is very much looking forward to this new challenge and working closely with his daughter.
